The Trustees of the Friends of Kinsbourne Green Common send their very best wishes to you and your family. It is such a pleasure to remember that the Common now belongs to the local community, and only a year ago, its future looked a little less certain.
We wished to let you know that the New Year kicks off with some essential tree works being undertaken on :
Monday, January 6th and Tuesday, January 7th
Please take care if walking on the Common on those days and keep a sensible distance away from the works.
All the works being done are recommendations from the tree survey, undertaken this summer. A significant number of trees have been found to have ash die back, which not only affects the foliage of the tree but also makes the trunk brittle and in danger of falling. Rest assured all the felled trees will be put to good use building bug hotels and creating sections of dry hedging.
In early spring, we will plant new trees to introduce more biodiversity to the tree species along the Common's boundaries. This marks the start of a broader, long-term planting program aimed at enhancing biodiversity.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2025!
